She is the daughter of mother Michael Ann Holly, an art historian, and father Grant Holly, a screenwriter. Holly has two younger brother Nick Holly and Alexander Innes Holly. She attended Geneva High School and then she joined Sarah Lawrence College. She also enrolled at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
