Barbara Eden is an American actress and singer, who was born in Tucson, Arizona, United States on August 23, 1931, as Barbara Jean Morehead. She is the daughter of mother Alice Mary Franklin and father Hubert Henry Morehead. She has a sister Alison Scanlon. Eden studied at City College of San Francisco and then she went to Abraham Lincoln High School. She also enrolled at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Eden got married to actor Michael Ansara in 1958, and they have a son Matthew Ansara, who was died in 2001. The couple divorced in 1974. She has been in a relationship with John Marion from 1961 to 1964. Later, she began a relationship with Charles Donald Fegert in 1977, and the couple got married on 3 September 1977. Barbara began her acting career with Blonde College Girl’s role in the film Back from Eternity in 1956, and she appeared as Dr. Jane Bowers in her debut television series The Feminist and the Fuzz in 1971. She gained fame for Jeannie’s role in the television series I Dream of Jeannie from 1965 to 1970, and she also popular as Lt. Cathy Connors’s role in the film Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea in 1961. Eden portrayed Greta Heinrich’s role in the film The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm in 1962 and she starred as Angela Benedict in the movie 7 Faces of Dr. Lao in 1964. She started singing with local bands at age 14 for $10 a night in local nightclubs.
